Waterman Film

Aloha!

About 20 ‘Ainahau members were fortunate enough to view the California premiere of a new documentary about the life of Duke Kahanamoku.  The film is entitled “Waterman” and follows Duke’s life from high school dropout to world-wide fame.  The many challenges he encountered from racism to finances and the way he faced them with humility and his ever-present ‘Aloha Spirit’ showed what a very special man he was!

The movie opens Friday, April 15th in several theaters in Orange and L.A. counties, notably Bella Terra and The Block of Orange.  Google “Waterman” for more information.  I highly recommend that you go and take your friends—anyone interested in surfing or swimming will be glad they went.  Let’s show support for Hawai’i’s first Olympian and Ambassador to the Islands!
